Feel the music *

Rye really is enjoying his weekly music class with Sarah Peters. His friend Jack is in the class, and we're making some new friends, too.

Rye and Wyeth check out the maracas. Wyeth is a pro at the music thing, since his daddy holds his own performances for kids with Storytimefunland.

Every class allows free play with drums and other rhythm instruments. The babies sit on the big drum to feel the vibrations and the beat.

The parents keep the beat and help the babies explore bells, tambourines, rhythm eggs, drums and maracas. Most of the babies explore the instruments by licking them. Sometimes they shake-a, shake-a them.

We also play with scarves and balls for other rhythm and sensory experiences.

Everything gets washed after class.

Sarah, the music teacher, is always smiling. Rye LOVES her, especially when she sings right to him!

Sarah also allows the babies to explore her guitar, banjo and berimbau. The songs we sing are from Brazil, England, Israel, Kenya and other places around the world.
