Great birthday party

Rye had fun at a great double-birthday party this weekend (two piñatas, two cakes). There was a petting zoo! He said he liked the frog the best, but he was pretty happy about holding a baby bunny.

 He got some good whacks in on the spaceship piñata.

 But another kid busted it open.

Rye was worried the birthday boy wouldn't get all of his candles blown out, so he jumped right in like he was family, to help out. I wonder which side of the family that comes from? The cakes were incredible.

Sticker play

Yeah, that was fun to clean up.

Our little meerkat astronaut

 Rye wanted to make the water-powered astronaut propulsion tanks out of metal drinking cups. Mommy suggested shiny red cups instead.

A working propeller was an integral part of the design.

 The backyard flights weren't fast enough, so the tanks were installed on a faster vehicle.
