Rye slept through his first earthquake, only a 4.4, at about 4:04 a.m. (Cue Twilight Zone theme.) Mommy and Daddy? Not so much.

"Earthquakes with a magnitude of 4 are actually quite common in Southern California, occurring somewhere in the region every month or two," according to the LA Times.
