Day 3

Rye and Mama are doing well; Daddy is taking good care of us. We've been running the A/C constantly to filter out the 100-degree-temps in LA, and to filter out the smoke from the fires in LaCanada, Altadena, and the LA basin.

Rye is learning a good latch for feeding, and how to communicate (loudly) if we don't respond to the cues quickly enough. The meconium is transitioning into a more watery poop, and he's begun to occasionally spit up. We're using olive oil on his bum to keep the meconium from sticking. He lost only 3oz in weight (meconium poop is heavy) from Fri to Sunday, but overall is very healthy. The pediatrician will come by the house today for another routine check.

Bug is healing slowly but still is quite tender and tired in several areas, and still is resting in bed most of the time.

Friends, family and neighbors are dropping by as much food as we can eat; Thank you all!
